What I'm bout.
WHERE I'M FROM
I’m from a small town called Rambukkana. I was born in Kandy, and when I was 19, I moved to Colombo to start university, but Rambukkana is still home..
WHAT I USED TO DO
When I was 5, my uncle gave me a computer. I learned by breaking things, fixing them, and taking them apart.
At 15, I wanted better hardware but didn’t have the money. I ordered used Tablet computers from a sketchy website in Korea and resold them to students newly starting university.
In my second year at university, my hometown, I walked from hotel to hotel, often wearing slippers, offering subscription-based websites and simple booking portals. It wasn’t fancy, but it worked.
I studied computer science and graduated in 2017 with a BSc Honours degree. Along the way, I realized I cared less about code itself and more about usability, clarity, and whether a product actually worked for people.
WHAT I DO NOW
I started my career at John Keells IT ↗, then spent several years at Dialog Axiata ↗ in a fast moving, product-driven environment. Today, I’m a Lead UX Designer at IFS ↗, working on sustainability and emissions managements related large scale enterprice ERP solutions products.
Most of my work is about taking complex systems and making them understandable and practical. I also use AI as part of my design process to reduce complexity and improve clarity.
WHERE I'M AT
Based in Sri Lanka and work on products used globally. Outside work, I spend a lot of time traveling to the Himalayas. Whether it’s Nepal or North India, I’m always drawn to being close to that mountain range. It’s where I slow down and think clearly.
Oh, and I’m also a certified bartender and ISO certified in food safety, for some reason....
WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR
Work that feels meaningful. Teams that value clarity and care about what they build. Products that respect the people using them.
I believe things can be simpler, calmer, and more honest if we choose to design them that way.
